It’s a cloudy July 3rd here in Ithaca, and I’ve got a free minute, so here’s the news.
This site may have been inaccesible and/or broken yesterday because csoft finally got around to moving their servers to Georgia. After dealing with some minor database and mirror issues, the site seems to be whole again. Let me know if you have issues…with the server, not with life in general.
Also, late last week I put up my movies database, which allows you to see what I think about movies. You can also buy them (via Amazon), check out the IMDB listing, and gauge how wacked my sense of film is versus the majority of the critics. Isn’t that spectacular? I thought so. Link is in the header as well.
The house is good, the house is great – I don’t know what else to say. It’s getting a little full – by the end of the week, we’ll have 6 people living there, 2 of which don’t actually live there. But I digress.
Finally caved in and bought a Game Boy Advance over the weekend, with Castlevania and Fire Pro Wrestling. You are all hereby forced to go buy one now, as it’s a sweet little handheld.
And I think that’s it. Best wishes to Gil who’s having some issues with her foot. Get well quick, kiddo.

It’s odd; sometimes, you forget you have a website. And then something makes you go “Oh yeah, I wonder if that’s still up”. So here we are, friends.
The house is doing just fine. We’re finally getting our connection tomorrow (cross your fingers). Things are starting to get done, and it’s beginning to feel like home. The kids (Ben and Sabiha) are over every night, and we’ve been cooking, watching movies, and making frequent runs to Wegmans. It’s all going pretty well.
I’ve watched way too many movies as of late to list ratings for them all, but if you have yet to see Shrek, go do it. Oh, and you probably shouldn’t waste your time on Tomb Raider unless it’s a matinee. I promise, my movie rating thing will go up soon. Probably once I get that home connection.
Other than that, life continues on at a regular clip. Ellen graduated on Saturday, so congrats to her on that. MWNY is 3 weeks from today, and I’m starting to get a little frantic again due to credit cards, phone bills, and bus tickets. But oh well. Hopefully our passes will show.
If you’re bored out of your skull and need something to do, feel free to email me because I could sure use more email. Till next time (hopefully, tomorrow!)
Now, Where Was I?
I honesty thought it was longer since my last news update, but no, my birthday was really just one week ago. Among the gifts received were the aforementioned cell phone, a massive check from the rents to cover the bulk of our MWNY costs, a book from Gil, and two checks from relatives. I’m happy, although I was actually expecting a wee bit more.
Speaking of MWNY, Kate and I are now officially registered as press, credentials and everything. So now all we need are bus tickets and we’re set for what will be an interesting week of running around, swagging up, and parties. And yes, you’ll get tons of crap from me here.
Saw Memento last night; very good movie, although a little muddling at the end. I’m working on a new system for rating movies, and maybe I’ll make it public in the future. But who knows.
In the future: Going to see Bridget Jones’s Diary tonight (and hopefully Cinemopolis will get Sexy Beast soon, since Salon was raving about it); moving into the house this weekend, probably Saturday (crossing fingers); paycheck next week (badly needed) and hopefully getting a GBA with said paycheck (although looking doubtful). And I think that’s it.
