Friday Five
I keep seeing Martin doing these, so I figured, why not?
1. Who is your favorite celebrity?
Richard Dawson. No, really. Look, here’s a guy who did essentially three television shows (Hogan’s Heroes, Family Feud, Match Game) and one movie (Running Man), and EVERYONE knows who he is. Nevermind the fact that he was a complete asshole to nearly everyone on-camera and off. That takes balls.
2. Who is your least favorite?
There is one celebrity in the world who irritates me like no other. He plays nearly the same role in every movie he’s ever been in – a guy with some quirk but who on the inside is always lovable. Everyone loves him, which may make it seem like I hate him just to be indie, but I swear, I’ve hated him since I was like 12. Ladies and gentlemen, your recipient of Dan’s Least Favorite Celebrity Award…Tom Hanks.
3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?
Plenty. Too many to list them all, but notable ones include No Doubt, Jurassic 5, Cake, Moby (sort of), John Cleese, Kevin Smith, and Jared Leto. Which reminds me, I need to dig up my concert logs.
4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?
After listening to a certain member in the DDR community complain to me about how much he hates being a celebrity, and how he just wants to be left alone and blah blah blah…uh, not sure where I was going with that. Honestly, I have enough notoriety as it is, so I think I’m happy where I am.
5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?
This involves a bit of a time warp – Mark Summers while he was hosting Double Dare. There’s something intrinsicly fascinating about an obsessive-compulsive hosting one of the messiest gameshows on television. Also, like Richard Dawson, he could be a bit of a dick at times too.
