Info

The official statement of support for Beatmania US is as follows:

VJ Army will support Beatmania US to the best of its ability.

What does this mean for you? Effort will be made to allow for as much of Beatmania US's game to be accessible via VJ Army functions without compromising the existing functionality of VJA or coding a lot of hacks to deal with needless contingencies.

5-Key

5-key songs are completely in the database. 5-key scores are counted towards your sig graphic.

7-Key

Not all 7-Key songs appear in the database right now. There are a handful of songs that have tweaked note charts that have not yet been hacked around to support. These include Music To Your Head, Snow, e-motion, g.m.d., and others. Some of these will appear in the database, and others will not. Please be patient.

All US exclusive songs are in the database.

Doubles

Doubles data for 5-key songs is not yet implemented. Some of the US exclusives do have doubles data.

Grading

One of the biggest controversies with the US version of Beatmania is that the grading system is radically different from the Japanese games. Regardless of whether or not this is by design, VJ Army will not be supporting the alternate grading method. The Japanese method has been considered a fair judgement of play since its inception in 6th Style, and I can find no valid reason to muck with it.

We will also not be supporting money scores as a ranking metric.

Expert Courses

Expert Course support is in a preliminary stage.

For Existing VJA Users

A number of users may find that adding US support screws up their stats on view user, be it their overall ex percentage, their clear rate, or something else. This is the inevitability of dealing with console game series that are still very much alive. I apologize, but try not to get bent out of shape over it.
