[edit] Basic Info
Click on "Song Entry" on the front page or "song session" in the navigation bar. Click on the graphic for the style you're playing. Click on the difficulty you're playing. Click the song you want to enter data for. Type in your note counts, select your modifiers, enter a comment if you feel the need, and uncheck the box if you didn't pass. Click submit, data is saved, and back to the song select you go. Repeat as needed.
[edit] Sorting Methods
- Song Title - alphabetical sort.
- Difficulty - sort from 1 star to 8 stars. Songs of the same difficulty are organized by note count.
- Percentage - your percentage of total ex score. Calculated by dividing your ex score by two times the note count. Only shows songs with data.
- Last Played - sorts from song with data entered the most recently to song updated the least recently. Only shows songs with data.
- Percentile - sorts by the ratio of your rank versus the total number of ranked users. Highest percentile is at the top. Only shows songs with data. You need Javascript on to view this mode. This mode is currently broken.
- BPM - sorts by beats per minute. The BPM listed for the song is always always the BPM listed on the song select screen.
[edit] Deleting A Score
To delete a score, enter all 0's for each note value.
[edit] Alternate Entry Mode
Due to the changes in game data saving introduced in 8th Style, an alternate score entry form has been introduced for all styles with this odd saving. Click "Alternate Score Entry" under the entry form to gain access to the alternate version. The alternate version requires an ex score, a combo count, and a miss count.
[edit] Entry For RED
As of IIDX RED, notecounts have returned to the game. However, they are slightly hidden; when on the song wheel, press Start to bring up your modifiers, and then HOLD Select until the play count/max combo/miss count indicator changes to full note counts.
Because this feature is included, alternate mode is not permitted while RED is selected in Session Mode.
[edit] Difficulty Changes
Difficulties shown in the database may be different than what you see in the game you're currently playing. This is almost always intentional. Guidelines for difficulties as listed in the database are:
- The difficulty reflects the last seen difficulty in a home version. Ex: If a song is a 6 on 6th style, and a 7 on 8th, it's listed as a 7.
- Flashing 7's are listed as 8's. This matches the format introduced in 10th style, and is mostly done to help maintain an easily sortable song table.
If you're playing the most recent home version and the difficulty is still wrong, please file a bug report, listing the song name and the proper difficulty.
[edit] 3rd Style Warning
3rd Style does not have L7 data for a number of songs; the game automatically plays you the 7-key version if you choose it on L7. Please refer to the manual to see which songs do not have L7 data; they do not have an entry in the database on L7.
[edit] Note Count Changes
This is one of the most frequent problems on VJ Army. Konami loves to change note counts from style to style for some songs, and this is problematic for a database that's trying to maintain the score data. Having multiple entries for the same song adds complexity and confusion about which song is the "current" version.
Where possible, song database entries will be reused if the difficulty maps to the same note chart on multiple styles. If charts differ, a single score database entry will be added to cover all changed charts per style.
There is no exact science to this, and this policy is a recent change, so please bear with us as we finish off adding data for previous songs.
[edit] Song Data Formatting
Occasionally there is a bug filed about the formatting of a song name or artist.
We strive to maintain a database of data that balances the need to have the song titles be accurate with the desire to keep it readable by English-speakers. Any song that has a romanized name shown in game will be referred to by it (e.g., The Strong Jaeger). Songs and artists are almost always changed to regular capitalization if they are in all caps. And so on.
If you see a definite inconsistency (letters missing from a song title or artist, misspelling), please file a bug report.
