[edit] How To Challenge
Occasionally, there will be users that post questionable score data. A formal complaint can be filed by any user against another user by going to the Blame forum and providing the following:
- Any songs and difficulty in question
- The user id number and/or login name and DJ name of the challenged user
- Evidence as to why you feel this score is a sham
- A link is incredibly useful, please provide them whenever possible.
At this point, VJA admins will judge whether the challenge is valid, and if so, the user has some number of days (which can vary from challenge to challenge) to provide pictoral evidence of the score. A picture of the records screen of the game in question will always suffice.
[edit] Examples: Valid Reasons For Challenges
- "User has all perfects for every song"
- "User has suddenly become #1 for multiple difficult songs"
- "User admitted to making up the score on another forum"
- "User's score is a far outlier from all their other scores."
- "User is probably playing sims"
- "This song is incredibly difficult to play, to the point where no other user has accomplished this."
[edit] Examples: Invalid Reasons for Challenges
- "User is a dickhead"
- "I don't know who user is"
- "I am in a rival situation with this user and can't believe they scored x, y, or z."
[edit] Ending A Challenge
- Failing the challenge
- Challenged user fails to provide the picture within the determined number of days
- Challenged user submits a picture of an obviously worse score.
- Challenged user is antagonistic towards challenger without providing evidence.
- Challenged user has an invalid email address in their account, making it impossible to contact them.
- Passing a challenge
- User shows pictorial or video evidence of score.
- User fixes score to accurately reflect real data (in cases of typos or misclicks)
- User makes score private.
- Special pardon from administration.
Failing a challenge may lead to penalties being applied.
[edit] Restrictions On Challenging
- Limit your challenges to one or two at a time.
- Do not be antagonistic or abusive in your challenge.
- Do not challenge grades less than a AA.
- Do not challenge someone who is not in the top 20 for a song.
- Avoid challenging clear status, as people frequently forget to uncheck the box.
- Avoid challenging modifier settings unless absolutely necessary.
Issuing an excessive number of failed challenges may lead to revocation of your challenge privileges.
[edit] I don't have a digital camera!
If you don't have a digital camera, nor a friend with a digital camera, it's quite curious how you have enough cash for all the equipment required to play IIDX and not have any access to a digital camera. We have people who take the rankings very seriously (some would say *too* seriously) and if you have no way to back scores up, it's not fair to them. If you really don't have a camera, marking challenged scores as private will successfully end the challenge without further penalty to your account.
