Modifiers are changed by pressing Triangle before selecting your song. Note that the modifiers available changes depending on your gear.

[edit] Speed

Speed modifiers change the rate at which the notes fall and how far apart they are spaced. They do not change the speed of the music itself.

Hi-speed modifiers run from 2x in half steps up to 5x. Also available is a .5x lo-speed setting.

In all modes, you can change the hi-speed during a game by pausing and using the L and R triggers. In 4B and 6B mode, you can change them without pausing - just hit L to slow down the scroll speed and R to increase it.

Fader modifiers obscure the visibility of the notes.

[edit] Hidden

Icon: A downward arrow.

Hidden makes notes fade away about a third of the way away from the beat bar.

Icon: An upward arrow.

Sudden makes notes fade in about a third of the way away from the beat bar.

[edit] Blink

Icon: Text "BLINK"

Blink will fade in and out the visibility of all notes in a cyclical pattern.

[edit] Smoke

Icon: A black circle with a purple spiral.

Smoke obscures the beat bar and surrounding area with spinning smoke icons.

[edit] Stealth

Icon: A red circle with a dot inside, on a purple background.

Stealth makes no notes appear at all.

[edit] Key

Key modifiers change the order of the notes.

[edit] Random

Notes are transposed to other lanes.

[edit] Mirror

Notes are reflected across the middle, so the leftmost lane and the rightmost lane changes notes, and so on.

[edit] R-Left

Randomize notes, favoring the lanes on the left.

[edit] R-Right

Random, favoring the lanes on the right.

[edit] Random Max

Random, with the lane transposition changing each measure.

[edit] Random L-Max

Random, with the lane transposition changing each measure, favoring the lanes on the left.

[edit] Random R-Max

Random, with the lane transposition changing each measure, favoring the lanes on the right.

[edit] Chaos

Chaos modifiers make life difficult.

[edit] Slide UP

Slide Up will start you at a speed setting of .5x. As your combo increases, it will gradually increase, all the way up to 5x. If you break your combo, it immediately jumps back to .5x.

Slide Dn will start you off at a reasonable speed setting. As your combo increases, it will gradually decrease, past .5x to completely compressed notes. If you break your combo, it immediately jumps back to your original setting.

All lanes are on different hi-speed settings; the left-most lane will be the slowest, increasing to the right so that the right-most lane is the fastest.
