Sound directors are those in charge of deciding what music to put in each IIDX game; TAKA, the main current sound director, usually tells each individual artist what kinds of songs that he'd like to have made for each new IIDX game. Sound directors try to strike a delicate balance between new, interesting musical styles, and "tried and true" styles that each artist might be more used to.
