Think Shop Til You Drop meets Hell's Kitchen meets Survivor
So, time to finally write something again. I've actually had plenty of topics to post about, but as usual I've been lazy. And now I'm tired (yes I know it's not even 10 yet, I've become pathetic), so let's keep this short tonight and hopefully get into more things tomorrow. For tonight I will talk about Bravo and reality TV.
Now normally reality TV just annoys the hell out of me. I can't watch Survivor, Big Brother, Real World, etc. And if you include game shows like Fear Factor, Who Wants to Be a Millionare, or Deal or No Deal (don't even get me started on that one...) it tends to get worse. However there are a few shows that I can watch, and they all tend to be on Bravo (well apart from a couple classics like Flavor of Love, Cheaters, or Dog The Bounty Hunter). Somehow I just get wrapped up in these Bravo shows. There was Queer Eye and The Resturant at first, then Celebrity Poker (yeah, it counts as reality TV in my book) and now I've really become wrapped up with Top Chef. It's like watching Hell's Kitchen, but with people who actually know what they're doing in a kitchen!
Top Chef has all the elements there. It has a random group of people who don't all get along (there are at least 2 complete assholes that I doubt anyone could get along with), they all live in one house, and they all stab each other in the back as they compete weekly to stay on the show and try to win the honor of "Top Chef". Adding to it all they have immunity challenges, team battles, shopping challenges, and harsh ass judges who won't pull punches on rating dishes. All this and it's a cooking show, so you get to see all this great food (well most of the time it looks good). And to bring it all together they even have the finale in LasVegas where as they first part they had to serve food to high rollers, poker players, and Cirque performers. It's like they took elements of every good (and bad) reality show and rolled them into one delicious egg role. All they need to make it complete is to have all the contestants be unfaithful boyfriends/girlfriends who are hunted by a hounty hunter in Hawaii...and there's always next season.
