China, Post 1
So this is mostly just a test to see if I am allowed to post while over here. My first few attempts have failed, but that might just be due to the fact that I have to resign-in every 15 mins. As a quick update, things started terriblly (culture shock, homesickness, etc.), got better (adjusted to the culture more, made some good friends, etc.), got worse (smog/smoke made me sick, class chairs and bed bent my back out of shape, food destroyed my instestines, etc.), and then better again (smog is still bad but more tolerable, the back has adjusted, found some more Western food to supplement the Chinese). If I can, and get a chance, I'll update in more detail all the goings on. I'm also going to try and post some of the pictures I've taken so far a little later (probably tomorrow), assuming that works too. I have been checking my email and such rather regularly, so feel free to write me if it strikes your fancy. Until later...

Thom!!!!!! Glad to hear you're alive and well. Very excited to read any upcoming details as well; the little/big differences between US and Chinese culture are very interesting to me (and everyone else too, I bet).
