They're Baked, Not Fried...Well Actually More Like Steamed
So I forgot to mention one last little topic in my previous post. As many of you may or may not know, when I was younger we had a yearly tradition of having a clam bake towards the end of summer. This went on in our neighborhood (centralized at our house) for many many years. Last year there was a slight shift in the trend as my old roommates and I decided to hold a semi-clam bake (one without real clams, since we were still poor college students at the time) at our apartment in Ithaca. We even got some of the old Greece people to come along and partake in the festivities. And, thanks to Adam and the rest of the Greece contingent, we were even supplied with clams, making it an official clam bake.
Well this year my mom has decided to host the clam bake. It'll be held on the 20th of August at her house on the outskirts of Greece (dircetions are available upon request for anyone interested in attending). And of course, all of you out there are invited to attend. Although I can't say anything for sure, knowing my mother, I'm confident that there will be tons of food and baked goods (I've also heard rumors that there will still be clams this year), as well as plenty of outdoor funness. Now I do realize that since most of you have graduated college already (I'm getting there...), and have moved on in the world, most of you would be coming from out of town. To accommodate for this fact anyone is more than welcome to crash at my mom's place. Although I can only really offer my room, I'm sure my mom would be more than willing to house you in the rest of the house too.
So I hope that many of you will attend, as this also will serve as a going away party of sorts since I will be leaving a week later for my sabbatical in Beijing. Also, as the time gets closer (I know it's still two months off at this point), let me know if you think you'll be coming/staying, so my mom can have some sort of rough estimates to work with in food and house preperations.
P.S. - For those of you worried, worry no longer! I am back into the positives on my summer foray into the world of professional gambling after my $250 win last night (not too bad for an hour of work).
