That is absurd! I was equally disconcerted that every possible manifestation of my name returned the result “that name is already taken”. I stopped short of checking to see if my SSN was available. I finally had to opt for something a homebound 13 year-old would choose. Apparently that is their typical user, and hence the restriction on you.
