Well friends, the year 2000 has come and gone. Okay, so it’s not all gone, but for all intents and purposes, it is. I highly doubt I’m going to post again between now and Jan. 1, unless it’s some ridiculous Christmas-gift list or something. Kate arrives into Syracuse tonight at 5:05. I don’t need to say any more about that, do I? On behalf of the entire staff of remy.csoft.net, I’d like to wish you a Happy Capitalistic Holiday Gift Giving Season. May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white.
Happy New Year
Well, it’s a Saturday morning, and Katie and I are just lounging around the house. I figured that it would be a good time to update my page for those of you who reload my page endlessly. Christmas was very very good, and I got the fabled CD burner. It is very nice, and has been burning various things very well. I also got a crapload of DVDs (Beastie Boys Criterion, Serial Experiments Lain: Knights, Princess Mononoke), some books, some clothes, and a lot of candy. Oh, and a Pocket Pikachu 2, who is much more technologically advanced than Tom’s. Yeah. With the large inflow of cash I’ve gotten as well, I have set up a little petty cash fund and bought myself some fun stuff. Two more DVDs(Powerpuff Girls: Down and Dirty, the new Se7en set), some remixing software (Mixman StudioPro 4.0)…I still have $50 or so left, and I’m trying to figure out what exactly I should do with it. Should probably go towards the phone bill…argh, this is turning E/N. Katie would like to add that she got a very large TV and a DVD player for Christmas. Tomorrow, we head down to her house for another week of fun and the like. I will be returning January 8th, for those of you playing along at home. I hope you all have had a safe, happy, and sarcastic holiday season. I like getting email, so if you’re bored, I’d be happy to banter with you via good old POP3/SMTP communications. Until next year, PARKER LEWIS CAN’T LOSE!
Katie’s Birthday
Today, my wonderful girlfriend turns the magical age of 21. If you’d
like to send her birthday emails (and I know you do), you can direct
them over here.
In related news, Katie will be up here on Saturday, and we will be
together in an offline sort of way until January 8th. You’ve been
forewarned.
Done
“We’ve been doing something a little different this tour. We’ve been looking at one of our songs from a different angle, under a different light, so we can hopefully almost see it for the first time. We’re going to need your help, though. Gonna need your help…and your permission. So we need you to find….a comfortable space, that’s not only comfortable, but vulnerable – so just shut your eyes and go there, and we’ll meet you on the other side.” -Maynard James Keenan, Pushit I’m going home.
Linkpad Officially Back
Not that anyone cares, but at long last, I have re-hacked out the little javascript blip that lets me do swank and quick Linkpad entries. Thus, I will be able to throw things on there much more quickly than I have for the last 3 months. I care because you do.
I Know You Well, You Are A Part Of Me
The Tool boxset “Salival” was released today; it consists of a DVD/CD or VHS/CD set. The DVD contains all 5 Tool videos in very nice 5.1 sounds. The CD contains live and unreleased tracks. There’s also a very large booklet full of pictures. The DVD set is currently available for $23 at Sam Goody across the street from my dorm. Any Tool fans are hereby forced to go pick it up.
Planet Of The Site Tweaks
Get your paws off me, you dirty PHP script! Okay, I have finally decided to tweak my logo, and actually remove the GIF file, just going for straight CSS instead. We’ll see if I want to leave it that way for long. Couple other slight updates here (jobs) and there (linkpad is back in full effect). Other than that, it’s a pretty lazy weekend here in Ithaca. Having just gotten through my 350 final yesterday, I’m down to two more tests before I have to head home. I must add that the Final Fantasy 9 ending rocks the fucking house.
Bio
After looking at the web page of my friend Samantha Craggs today, I felt
a strange sense of web-estrangement. I have this ridiculously detailed
web site, which is supposed to be all about me – but there’s actually
very little about me.
Behold, the biography page. Replacing the FAQ page, which was
always sort of blah, the Bio page has all the goods you need, along with
lots of little nitty gritty crap you don’t care about. It includes a
little improv-poetry thing with me giving you the Big Red Experience.
It’s fun for all ages, so check it out now.
I am updating my page too much. This is going to turn into an E/N site,
and then I will have to kill myself. So please, don’t make me update
again.
Content! Actual Human Content!
In an effort to further my PHP skillz, and to work on my OR350 (I have
the final this Friday), I have created a web based version of
Quiz #4, which was laughably fun. You are asked to please try it and
give it an actual try, and not just half-ass it.
Oh, and this is for Neil, since he had a request of something he’d like
to see more of on this page:
Some site tweaks
In an effort to continue to delight and amaze you, the readers of my site, I’ve added three months of news archives that should’ve been up a while ago. November will be up after December 14th, since I have also just changed my newsscript back to a 14 days period. This should avoid the whole lack-of-a-front-page thing. Web update fever has overcome me, so I’ve also tweaked RemyHoo a bit, fixing an annoying double HR problem, and adding more (current) links to bring me up to 100. I’m also playing with layout; the CSS has been changed slightly, as has the navigation links at the top. I’ll probably try and whip up a new logo at somepoint as well. If you the reader have any suggestions for things you’d like to see on this site, please let me know.
