Apple has discontinued the iPod Mini and replaced it with iPod nano. I've only had my iPod mini for a few months and it's already obsolete! Sleeker and more compact than the mini, the nano offers a color screen and comes in black or white. You can get the 2 GB nano for $199 and the 4 GB for $249, which means that you get less storage for your money than the mini, but with that pretty packaging, does it matter?

Finally, someone admits to f%^&ing up down there.

The throngs of reporters in the Gulf are showing thier fury at the feds for taking so long to respond to the crisis in the South. They have become crusaders for the displaced, the dead and the sick. I just don't understand how they were there from day one, while help took so long
Anderson Cooper showing his fury towards Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La.:
Excuse me, Senator, I'm sorry for interrupting. I haven't heard that, because, for the last four days, I've been seeing dead bodies in the streets here in Mississippi. And to listen to politicians thanking each other and complimenting each other, you know, I got to tell you, there are a lot of people here who are very upset, and very angry, and very frustrated. And when they hear politicians slap—you know, thanking one another, it just, you know, it kind of cuts them the wrong way right now, because literally there was a body on the streets of this town yesterday being eaten by rats because this woman had been laying in the street for 48 hours. And there's not enough facilities to take her up.
Do you get the anger that is out here? …
I mean, I know you say there's a time and a place for, kind of, you know, looking back, but this seems to be the time and the place. I mean, there are people who want answers, and there are people who want someone to stand up and say, "You know what? We should have done more. Are all the assets being brought to bear?"

I'm appalled at the rescue efforts going on in the South. I can't believe how they're treating the refugees of Hurricane Katrina. To be honest, I had no idea that it was going to become as bad as it is at this moment. I laughed when Mayor AJ Holloway, of Biloxi, Mississippi, called the hurricane "our Tsunami," and when Mississippi's Governor, Haley Barbor compared it to Hiroshima. Dan told me not to stress, that they were just making hyperboles because of the recent disaster. I thought they were exagerrating, but after watching all the coverage, it is indeed looking like a scene out of an apocalyptic movie! Looting all over the place, children being raped in the Superdome. Why are victims being ignored? Why are the dead left to rot? I can't help but think that maybe it's a class and race issue. So does Slate.
